    Before I connected with the  NFB, I had lower expectations about blindness. I met some members of the NFB of Washington when I attended my first local chapter meeting. This completely changed my philosophy about blindness. Having attended the NFBW convention, along with chapter meetings and functions, I have seen how independence is important for blind people to successfully live the lives they want. I attended my first national convention in 2018 in Florida. That week I learn about blindness philosophy and it change my life.   After the convention, I   can live the life I want!
